Signs of Summer

There are many images that the summer season brings to mind. But for me, fresh summer fruit is one of my favorite signs of summer. We have so many roadside strawberry stands around us, showcasing some of the prettiest berries I've seen in a while. And we have not only been enjoying looking at the berries, we've been eating them too; making strawberry shortcake, in smoothies, on our cereal and my favorite, strawberries sprinkled with a bit of freshly ground black pepper, topped with real whipped cream. So, when I spotted this stamp with the strawberry image, I couldn't resist adding it to my collection. Now if I could just find a really cute watermelon stamp...

Ahhh, how sweet is that?! I love the gingham, and that stamp (I just got that stamp, but haven't had a chance to ink it up yet)!! Such a sweet, summery card! (And I'm with you on lovin' the upcoming seasons...though I do love strawberries!) tfs

P.S. I've never tried putting black pepper on strawberries (or even heard of it before); but since it came so highly recommended, I guess I'm gonna have to give that a try...with the whipped cream of course. ;)
