Thinking of You Butterflies

A pretty butterfly card for you today. Our rose garden is being visited by the most beautiful butterflies I have seen in a long time, all sorts of colors and patterns. They were the inspiration for my card.

I paired these beauties with some scrumptious flowered paper by Anna Griffin, and added a whisper of black cardstock. It really was a quick card to put together, once the coloring was completed. This is one I am keeping for my collection.

Here is a close up of the little butterfly. I made a few of them so I could use two to achieve this dimensional effect.I simply adhered one butterfly flat down on the card and then slightly bent the other one at its wings and glued its body down. I colored the butterflies using CTMH markers and the blender pen. The white dots are done with a Signo pen and I drew the antennae with Legacy Writers.

Supplies-All items CTMH. Cardstock:White Daisy,Garden Green, Black. Paper:Roses (Anna Griffin). Stamps:Thoughtful Scripts,Celebrate Life. Ink:Black. Markers:Sunflower, Autum Terracotta. Pens:White (Signo). My Legacy Writers (CTMH). Other:Black organdy ribbon by the spool from JoAnn.

Thanks for the visit. Have a great weekend!

Absolutely gorgeous! My girls just released some Painted Lady butterflies yesterday (a b-day gift from a friend to watch the whole life cycle) and I think your butterflies are almost prettier than the "real life" ones.
