Happy Autumn

Happy Autumn!! Tree It's finally here in full swing in my neigborhood and I am sooo pleased! The trees look amazing and the air is so clean and crisp. The smoky aroma of woodfires scents the evening air and our sunsets have been spectacular! Wonderful! Wonderful! To celebrate Autumn, I made this card using the skecth from this weeks challenge at PCP. If you haven't been there yet, you're really missing out! On to the card...

The sketch called for an oval focal, so I stamped my image, using Mailbox Greetings from PTI and cut it out with the Coluzzle. I inked the edges so it wouldn't be so bright. I colored the image with Copics and then cut the insides of two of the mailboxes out, so I could slip in those adorable little envelopes!~I tell ya', Nichole thinks of everything!~The focal image is up on pop dots. Then for the scattered leaves at the base of the mailboxes, I stamped those on another piece of cardstock. I used two different color inks, inking up with the lightest color first and then using a dauber to add the darker color in spots. Then I cut them out and adhered them to the focal image base using pop dots. I didn't want to take a chance of botching up the image by stamping directing onto it. I like the raised effect it gives, too. On the bottom portion of my card, I randomly stamped some more leaves in various fall shades. I stamped my sentiment onto cream cs and punched it out with the Word Window Punch, that too is up on pop dots. I tied a piece of brown grosgrain ribbon on top and called it done! I gave you a little peek of the inside, too. I'm really starting to like decorating the inside of my card. I made a small stack of these to give as little Autumn greetings this week, when I'm out and about.

Your card is darling, Barb, and you did a beautiful job with that sketch! I love the colors, the scattered leaves, and the little letters you tucked into the mailboxes. What a happy card!

Glad it's finally autumn in your neck of the woods...it's looking more like winter here today. Almost all of the leaves have already put on their goregous show of color, and it seems they gave up the ghost when the winds came through. It's lookin' mighty bare and wintery. Just no snow...yet!
