Easter Parade...of Cards

Remember this song? "In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it you'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade. I'll be all in clover and when they look you over I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade." My dad would sing that song to us when we were getting dressed on Easter morning. When I was a little girl, Easter was a big deal at our house. I would get a new dress, new shoes and a Spring sweater. We would go to church and then to my grandparents house for an egg hunt and dinner. My grandmother would prepare the most succulent lamb with this amazing mint sauce and fresh green beans, steamed with a bit of dill. She also made a rice dish with peas and carrots. She would make carrot cake and 7Up cake for dessert... Such good memories!

Today I have for you an Easter parade of cards. I used another stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps, called Spring Baskets and it is lovely! It's my new favorite! Claire really spoils us by including so many sentiments and images in her stamp sets and this one is just full of spring time cheer...bitty butterflies and honey bees, beautiful florals and baskets. Be sure to have a peak at it.

Now onto the cards. I had so much fun with this set! I made several of the same card, but each has its own style. Some were paper pieced, some were colored with Copics. Each one was embellished with the bitty bees and butterflies and I glittered their wings with SU!'s Dazzling Diamonds. The paper and card stock I used is from Papertrey Ink. The images are stamped in SU! Soft Suede-LOVE that color-it's the perfect blend of brown and black. I also used Brown Bag and Garden Green Ink, by CTMH. Each one was also treated to a spritz of my shimmer spray.

ETA:I was so excited to discover that Claire Brennan, the creator/owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps, stopped by my blog and left a comment about my cards.

I finished the inside of the cards very simply. I used the sweet sentiments included in the set and a few of the little butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
