Tea for Two-Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge

I was introduced to a new blog the other day. Perhaps some of you know of it already. It's called Cinema Saturday, it's a challenge blog, where one uses movies as their creative inspiration. This is perfect for me, since I am such a movie buff. They are celebrating their 100th challenge and the movie they are featuring is Pride & Prejudice, which happens to be one of my favoirtes. Although, I do like the 2005 version, I prefer the 1995 BBC mini-series starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. Colin Firth is dreamy as Mr. Darcy, I could get lost in his big brown eyes. And don't even get me started on the lake scene...*swoons* Anyway... The movie is a wonderful testament of friendship, family, love and romance. I like this genteel period in time...women were courted, men were real gentlemen and people relaxed and enjoyed their tea. I drew my inspiration from my love of teatime and the wardrobe of the day.

I used THIS stamp set from PTI. Card stock is from SU! and CTMH. Inks are CTMH. Ribbon is SU! Patterned paper is some old K&Co, I've had for years, the lace is by Wrights, the pearls can be purchased from GinaK and that bitty pink twinkle is from Taylored Expressions.

I thank you so much for dropping in today. It's Wednesday...I can see the tip of the weekend from here! Have a great day, everyone. Until next time...

Blessings~

  1. So beautiful, Barb! As is your tribute to Pride and Prejudice. I remember watching the movie while in high school, 11th grade English. I was so enthralled. Then some kids must have been messing around too much and my teacher refused to show the end of the movie! I was so mad at the time. I've since seen the end of it, but obviously that episode still gets to me since I'm just about older than dirt. LOL

  2. I really, really love this card - it is so beautiful. I wish I had that stamp set... I collect teapots and love drinking tea (no coffee at our house). I've somehow never seen the movie, but maybe I'll rent it over the holidays.

  3. Your card is lovely! I like to see the challenges at Cinema Saturday, but have never participated. You did a fantastic job. Sankari is an inspiration and a sweetie. I can't wait to see what you do next for that challenge. Looks like a great blog for you.
