Hello Friends and Happy Spring! I know we are all experiencing weather that may or may not be spring-like, but according to the calender, spring has sprung! As much I enjoy Spring with the warmer days, beautiful flowers and bird song, I do not look forward to my girls having allergy attacks. So far so good. I heard about the high pollen count in Atlanta, Georgia and I tell you what, I don't envy my friends and family who live there. My eyes start itching just thinking about it!
Well, this Spring the girls and I are embarking on a new journey. We are planting an edible garden...in containers. We had a vegetable garden at our previous home, but never took that task on here, because we live on a mountain and it's full of hard, compacted soil and rocks, lots and lots of rocks. But, with the help of Pinterest, I am finding all kinds of interesting ways to plant a garden. I love the idea of containers, too, because we can move them around and I don't have to be down on my knees. I'm anxious to get things going and since Easter break is coming up, I hope to get a few things planted. I'll post updates from time to time.
So, now let's get to what you really came for the crafty bits! This is the card I created for the Monday Makeover Challenge for the Paper Crafter's Library. The inspiration piece is a beautiful card, by Andrea Walford, featuring an Eiffel Tower. Seeing that reminded me of an Eiffel Tower stamp in my stash, so I pulled it out and created this card.
I love the rolled roses that are so popular right now. I decided to purchase the die, that way I can make roses in any color or pattern I desire. I did a little sponging with distress inks and stamped the text onto the card stock. Then I stamped the Eiffel Tower in Black and added a bit of shading with a Copic marker. After that, I just adhered all the pieces together, added the rolled rose and leaves and I was finished.
Thank you for stopping in today!
Blessings~

I'm in that super high pollen count, and luckily, my allergy meds are working great so far! Good luck with your garden!
Your card is simple and gorgeous! The patterns you chose with the pop of red make this an elegant creation!
**I had to laugh at your shout out up top. :D
I have heard allergies will be bad this year too. Tanner is experiencing them now. It is nice to have spring here though.
You will have to keep us updated on your garden. I never heard about a container garden. When I first read it, I was trying to think what that would be. Duh! LOL!
Your card is BEAUTIFUL! Love the rose too.
Hey Barb, I tried to turn off my word verification too, but I can't seem to find it. Where do I go? Thanks!
Guess what? I found it! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Very pretty card, Barb! But then, I pretty much say that about all the cards you post, don't I? It's true though.
I heard a story on the news last night about how the pollen count is record breaking high, by a lot, this year. Amy may have a few allergies as she sounds congested and her eyes were itchy last night. Hmmmmm...
Good luck with your container gardening and keep us posted on your progress with it.
Hugs!
Beautiful card!
