Make a Wish

Hello Friends! I hope the weekend was kind to you! It was so unbelievably hot in my neck of the woods! I am really ready for Summer to pack up and move on! I am decorating the house for Autumn this week, and on Friday, I'm having a few friends over for a Fall Into Christmas Candle party! It's going to be so much fun! I'm so excited! I want to have the scents of the Fall season wafting thru the air. I am over Pool Towel, Beach and Pineapple! Bring on the Mulled Cider, Warm Apple Crisp and Woodland Spice. Mmmmm...

Today I have another super cute Meljen's Designs digital image card to share with you. But first, I want to tell you that I was randomly chosen again to win more FREE Meljen's images! If you've never worked with Melissa's whimsical designs, I encourage you to try one. She has TONS of images, all very reasonably priced, there are even some dollar digi's. In addition, she has a few tutorials on how to use the digital images, if you need help with that. Sooo, you should get an image and play along with the Thursday Challenge, you just might win!

This challenge is called SCRAP IT! And we are to use scraps on our project. I needed a birthday card, so I chose the Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake image. Isn't it fun? Meljen's images just make me happy.

The image is printed onto Cryogen White card stock and colored with Copics. I used a Clear Star glitter pen to accentuate the candle flames and to highlight the little dots and swirls. And you know that any opportunity I get to add bling, I will! So I added LOTS of gem stones to the polka dots on the cakes.

Click to see detail...it's pretty sparkle-y!

The camera does not do the shimmer on this card justice! I took it to a sunny window and my daughter said she needed sunglasses because of the sparkle! I also did a bit of embossing, using vanilla scented embossing powder, so the card smells good, too!

And finally, here is what the card looks like on the inside. I always punch hearts out of my scraps and just keep them in a little basket. I think just about every card needs a heart somewhere! :) If you decide to try Meljen's Designs, leave me a link...I would love to see what you're creating!
