Hello Friends! I hope this post finds you all well. My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. I have been watching the images on the news and I cannot believe the devastation that this storm has caused. Please be safe everyone.
The card I'm sharing today is for the Thursday Challenge at Meljen's Designs. The challenge this week is called Tear It Up! and we were to use distressing on our projects. I chose the Little Wizard Owl image to work with. I printed him on Cryogen White card stock and colored him with Copic markers. After die-cutting the focal panel, I sponged it with two Ranger Distress Inks. I used white core textured card stock as my card base and matting, because it really shows off distressing well. I roughed it up with sand paper and a distressing tool.
Isn't he cute?! Sad, the camera does not pick up the sparkle on this card! I sprayed the purple card stock with shimmer spray, the owls eyes are colored in with a black glitter pen, I also used a clear glitter pen on the star on his wand and the little swirls and finished off the sparkles by adding purple twinkles.
I used this sketch from Mojo Monday for my card. I don't play along with their challenges, but I do enjoy using their sketches every once in a while.
