New Release Friday!

Hello Friends! It's Friday and that means that there are new digis in the Meljen's Shop! We have quite an assortment for you this week. Let's take a look...

We have something extra special for the Hobbit lovers out there. Look at these adorable little Gnomes! Make sure you visit the Meljen's Designs Team Blog to see  DT member, Tabbatha's card featuring the Traveling Gnome. She colored him beautifully using Inktense watercolor pencils.

The Chinese Dragon gives a nod to the upcoming Chinese New Year and DT member, Celine did an OUTSTANDING job with this guy.

Now for my favorite of the lot...It's no secret that I love snowmen and cupcakes. When asked what image I would like to see, I suggested a snowman cupcake. Well, guess what? Lookie! Lookie!

Isn't he handsome? I just love him! I've printed him out SEVERAL times already, and colored him up in many ways. I created this card to share with you today...

I don't display the cards I've made very often, but this one is on my dresser and it catches the light from my Christmas tree and the subtle sparkle it has just makes me happy, happy, happy! I wish you all could see it in real life. I printed him on regular off white card stock, since there is not much coloring involved. I did a bit of paper piecing with the super cute and Christmas-y Be of Good Cheer papers from Stampin' Up! The little holly berries, are actually the same rhinestones I used under the greeting. I colored the stones with my Copic marker so they would better coordinate with my papers. The snowflakes scattered about are made with a punch and I gave them a healthy sprinkling of crystal glitter. If you've never used crystal glitter, I encourage you to try some. It's just sparkle, no color, no iridescence. You've seen how clear or white glitter imparts a 'rainbow' effect, not this. Just miles and miles of sparkle. I also used a Swiss Dots embossing folder to create the illusion of falling snow. I used the de-bossed side of the card stock, so my card elements would lie flush and not have to compete with the dot bumps...just makes for a cleaner look, in my opinion. I rounded only two corners. This was to carry out the round-ness of the snowman, and the circles on the card. I opted to leave two corners as is, to carry out the points on the cupcake liner. It really is a simple card, but loaded with details and love!
