50 Sucks!

Hello Friends! Today I am sharing the card and gift I made for a dear friend, who just turned 50. If you've been following my blog, you may have seen a similar card and gift in a previous post. I try to change things up a bit.

I die cut the 50 with Sizzix dies and I adhered it with dimensional adhesive. The sentiment is computer generated, but Papertrey Ink sells a stamp set that includes it. I stamped the flourishes with Delicata gold ink and adhered the focal panel on top, using more dimensionals. I kept the colors crisp and classic, since this was for a man.

The gift was my standard 50 SUCKS! basket of Tootsie Pops.

Yes, there are 51 pops in there. 50 for his age and 1 to grow on. I don't know where that came from, but we always say it for birthdays! This is a really fun gag gift and people get a kick out of it. Easy peasy to create. Grab a container, some floral foam, and enough lollipops for the age of the recipient. I actually first saw this on Pinterest and it was a 30 SUCKS! basket. Anyway, just start sticking the sticks into the floral foam until they are all in place. I wrapped two skewers with gold ribbon and made the 'sign' using a Nestie. I used stickers to create the words. Fun stuff! This was presented to him at his surprise party.Oh, and by the way, I don't mean to offend any Pentagenarians, as I am one myself! :)

That's all I have for today. Thanks for visiting me! Have a fantastic weekend!

Blessings~

Wonderful birthday card, Barb! I'm sure your friend loved it. I must look for that gold ink. My big question is how did you find so many suckers?! LOL!
