Thursday Challenge @ MelJen's!

Hello Friends! Are you ready for another Thursday Challenge at MelJen's Designs?  This week our theme is

ROUND & ROUND

To play along, just use round elements on your project. And remember, in order to be entered into the random drawing, you must use a MelJen's Designs image.

I chose to feature the Fancy Butterfly. My card was inspired by a card I saw on Paper Crafter's Library.

I printed my image twice, in two different sizes. I cut them out with circle Nesties and colored them with Copic markers. Then, I dusted on a bit of distress ink, so the images would pop off the white card stock underneath it. I also lightly inked the edges. I punched circles from card stock and adhered them . I let a few hang over the edge and just trimmed those after they were stuck down good and tight. I decided to frame out the white with black for impact. I've seen GinaK do this for years and I've always admired the look, so I thought I would give it a go...I like it! I adhered the focal panel to my card base and added the butterfly images. Those are mounted on dimesionals. I used a punch to create those bitty blooms. And after adding silver brads, I stuck them down with mini glue dots. I added a sentiment and my card was finished.

I invite you to join our challenge this week. And don't forget that all of the digital stamps are on SALE for the month of April in honor of the three year anniversary of MelJen's Designs.  Also, if you haven't already, see this post HERE, to be entered into my giveaway!

Thanks for stopping in today! I appreciate the visit.

Blessings~

This card is so pretty! The colors are fabulous. I love your coloring and the way you highlighted the butterflies with distress inks and pop ups. The black matting adds nice dimension to the card.

Wowza! Such a great card, Barb! You colored the butterflies beautifully. I like how you make them stand out with the dusting of ink. I like your bitty flowers with the silver gem and that black mat sure packs a terrific punch. Wonderful!
