Thursday Challenge @ MelJen's Designs!

Hello Friends! It's time for another Thursday Challenge at MelJen's Designs. This week we have a sketch challenge for you.

I decided to create a card featuring the adorable Sweet Wedding Cake.

Isn't this just the cutest image? I printed the cake onto my favorite Cryogen card stock. Then colored it with Copic markers. I die cut the image using my Nesties and then dusted on a bit of pink distress ink. I added Distress Stickles to the icing, then wouldn't you know it, stuck my fingers RIGHT in it! No time to fret, I just went with it and moooooved on! The pale brown paper behind the focal is a piece of vellum that I embossed. The little blooms are hand-made...by me.

Here's a little detail shot...loads of sparkle on this, too. I used a glitter pen to accent the image and I also gave the blooms a blast of shimmer spray. The organdy ribbon adds a subtle sparkle and the Cryogen card stock offers up glittery goodness, as well. And of course the beautiful pearl details add their own warm glow.

Here is a look at the inside. For this card, I used an ooooold scrapbooking kit, that had lots of pieces and parts, so I just incorporated them into the card design. Although, the camera doesn't show it, this entire panel is sparkly! I went wild and sprayed the whole thing with shimmer spray and it looks fantastic! You all know I'm a sucker for sparkles!

I hope you make some time to play along with us at MelJen's this week. Remember, you must use a MelJen's Design image to be included in the random drawing to win FREE digital stamps of your choice. Please take a moment to stop by the Design Team blog, to view the amazing samples the ladies have created to share with you.

Thanks for stopping in today! I appreciate the visit.

Blessings~

Fantastic card, Barb! Love all the detail you add to each card you create and this one is no exception. Life is so much prettier with sparkle, isn't it?
