Thursday Challenge @ MelJen's Designs

Hello Friends! Happy Thursday! It's time for another fun challenge at MelJen's Designs. The theme for this challenge is
EASTER
There are so many cute digital stamps in the Shop for Easter. I chose to feature the Easter Cross.

I've been into water coloring lately, so I decided to use Distress Markers to water color this image. I had a ball coloring it! I printed the image onto watercolor paper and heat set it. Sometimes that helps and sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea why. But...this time it worked and the printer ink didn't smear when it got wet. Yay! I printed a few of the crosses, so that I could play around with different techniques. I knew I wanted the cross to look like wood. Soooo, after I water colored it, I let it dry for a bit, then stamped it with the wood grain stamp. Then I cut it out and went around the edges with a black marker to give it a more finished look. After I finished coloring the entire image, I adhered the wood grain cross onto it. And that's all there was to it!

For my card front, I adhered the patterned paper onto a piece of card stock and cut the oval to create a frame. Then I mounted it onto the card base with dimensional adhesive.

To finish my card off, I added Wink of Stella to the Calla Lilies, glitter pen to the swirls and  a few Tiny Twinkles for a bit more sparkle.

I hope you make the time to play along with our challenge. You could win FREE digital images of your choice. Just remember that you must use a MelJen's Designs digital image in order to be included in the random drawing. And please stop by the Design Team blog to see what my Teammies have created to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings~

I like that you added texture to the cross, Barb. As always, your design and coloring are beautiful.
