Thursday Challenge @ MelJen's Designs

Hello Friends! Happy Thursday! It's time for another fun challenge at MelJen's Designs. The theme this week is...

FLORAL FANTASY
Use flowers on your project

I chose to feature the Little Layered Flowers Set today. This is such a fun set of images. There are so many things you can do with it.

I printed the flowers and leaves onto white card stock and colored them with Distress Ink pads and finger daubers. It's a really quick and easy way to color. The Distress inks blend so nicely, it's really hard to make a mistake with this technique. After I was finished with the coloring, I cut fussy cut each image out and then arranged them onto my focal panel. I adhered everything down, and then embossed the entire panel with a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The raised dots are on the backside of the panel. I wanted the look of dots, but not the texture. I added lots of sparkle onto each of the flowers and finished the focal off with the sentiment panel, accented with two flat black sequins. I adhered all of that onto a piece of black card stock and that all went onto a white card base. I love how the bright colors look with the black and white card stock.

And here is a peek at the inside...

This greeting is from a really old Close to My Heart stamp set. But, I thought it fit nicely with the theme of the card. And, I added one more little flower to the inside to tie it all together.

I hope you make time to join our challenge this week. You just might win FREE digital stamps. Just remember, you must use a MelJen's Designs digital image on your project to be included in the random drawing. And as always, I ask that you please visit our Design Team blog, to be inspired by my Team Mates.

That's all from me today...Have a great Thursday. Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings~

Barb, you used a beautiful combination of colors on the flowers. The debossed dots are so artistically unique. Love your card :)

Oh golly, Barb! This is lovely. I adore all those flowers and really like how you colored them. I'm going to have to try that technique myself. The colors are so pretty and look great next to the black. You definitely have a flair when it comes to creating cards! Excellent work!
