Day 12 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello Friends! Happy Sunday! I was able to sneak in a little coloring time today. Whoo hooo! I get so excited when I can color. If you've been thinking about joining the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, please do! It's not too late, you can jump in at any time and it's sooooo much fun! If you are on Instagram, use #thedailymarker30day to see all of the lovely artwork people are sharing. To learn more about the challenge, click HERE.

This is my cast of characters for the day. I decided to play with my Inktense pencils and I used another Lockhart Stamp Co stamp. This one is Cherries in a Colander.

I stamped the image onto smooth white card stock, using My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid ink. This ink is fantastic. Not only does it give a crisp, dark black impression but, it's Copic marker friendly and can also be used for watercoloring. It was the perfect choice for my project today. So, with Inktense pencils, because so little color is applied and so little water is necessary to activate the color, I didn't use watercolor paper, just regular Neenah Solar White card stock. I applied the pencils in layers; just one color at a time. The cherries are so small, that they dried very quickly. The whole process of coloring this image took me about 12 minutes. I colored it in sections; letting one cherry dry while I worked in another area.

Even though I show three pencils here, I actually used eight. And when I use these pencils, I like to use a waterbrush because it makes activating the ink quick and easy. This is the perfect on-the-go way to color. LOVE it!

Here's a little close up of those cherries for you. After the image was completely dry, I added Glossy Accents to the cherries. Now they really look juicy!

That's it for me on this unseasonably warm Sunday. I don't know what happened to Winter in my neck of the woods, but I sure do miss it!

I thank you so much for stopping by!

Blessings~

Looks like I could just pluck one out of the colander and pop it into my mouth. Deliciously good coloring! We broke a record for heat yesterday. When my daughter and I were out and about, the thermometer in the van read 82 degrees! What?! Did we morph to CA? LOL Thanks for sharing and keep cool!

Amazing coloring, Barb. Those cherries have great depth and dimension.
