Hello Friends! Happy Friday and Happy May! April just flew by...gone in an instant! Today, I have a simple little card to share. I needed a quick, but cute card for a special friend and TODAY is her birthday! Happy Birthday, M!
Sooo...I was browsing thru my things and I found the perfect stamp set for my friend. She's such a girlie girl and when I saw this image, I immediately thought of her. Not a lot of coloring on this one, kids and sometimes, that's a wonderful thing!
I stamped the Flower Girl image and the greeting onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, using Midnight Muse ink. Then, I die cut a panel using my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE DIES OF ALL TIME, the Stitched Rectangles from Simon Says Stamp. Just love that thing, can't get enough of it! Don't believe me, just scroll thru my last several posts. :) Anywhooo...After the panel was die cut, I applied a thin coating of liquid glue onto the dress and hat of the image and sprinkled on some Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I colored the little balloon and the flowers on her hat using ink that I smooshed into the lids of the ink pads and a Dove Blender. Easy peasy. I paper pieced the brim of her hat with a coordinating patterned paper. Then I added a tiny bit of Glossy Accents to her balloon and set it aside to dry.
Then I worked on the inside of the card...
I used bits of paper to decorate the top and bottom of the panel. I used the Birthday Balloons stamp set for the inside of the card and the stars are part of that stamp set, too. I decided to attach the balloon from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine stamp set to the swirl on the end of birthday to add a little whimsy. And for the balloon, I inked it up with Summer Starfruit and used a sponge dauber to add a bit of Gumball Green to the edge. Then I coated it with Glossy Accents. That was A LOT of Glossy Accents! It took forever to dry! So I was a day late with mailing it.
The finishing touch was the addition of the 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear sequins. And that is all there was to it!
Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings~

Beautiful birthday card, Barb! You made the Flower Girls set so new again with her stylish new clothes. :) I think your card design is absolutely lovely. I really like how you dressed up the inside of the card, too. Neat idea to do all the work on its own panel. I'm sure your friend loved receiving this beauty from you!
This is so pretty Barb. I love the card design and that you carried it into the inside of the card.
