Day 2 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge 2

Hello Friends! I had a super busy day today, so I ended it by relaxing with a little bit of watercoloring.

You may have seen these Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers around Blog Land recently. They are VERY popular right now thanks to Jennifer McGuire! I needed another coloring medium like I need a tail, but after I viewed the video Jennifer shared, I just had to order them. I purchased the 12 pack to get started. There are 80 colors in this collection and from what I read and saw on various videos, the 12 pack should be enough.

I used the Flutterby stamp set from Lawn Fawn for my coloring practice today. I like that lotus blossom, it's perfect for watercoloring. I stamped several images onto watercolor paper using Versamark ink and then sprinkled on Hero Arts White embossing powder and heat set it. Then, using Painter's Tape, I taped the paper onto my watercolor board to help prevent warping. And I began my practice session.

If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I adore watercoloring. I just love it! These brush markers are a watercolorists dream! They brush on like paint, but it's water-based dye ink, and they can be blended with water or they can be blended just using the markers. They are fantastic! The colors are vibrant, but can be watered down for a softer look. On the first two flowers, I used the same marker, just added more water to the first one. For my practice, I tried many different techniques; I scribbled some marker onto my craft sheet and mixed it with water. I wet the paper first, then added the color. I blended two colors together with and without water. I just had a ball!

My goal was to see exactly what the markers could do before I used them on a project. I can say that the 12 markers that came in the set contain a wonderful variety of colors. But...I am pretty sure that I will be ordering a few more individual markers to really round out and complete my collection. If you are interested in learning more about these fabulous little gems, please see Jennifer McGuire's videos HERE.

That is all I have to share with you today. Thank you for stopping by!

Blessings~
