Day 5 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge and a Blog Hop

Hello Friends! Well today, I've got something fun to share. Not only am I participating in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, but I'm also taking part in the Watercolor Blog Hop happening over on the Pretty Pink Posh blog. You all know how much I looooove Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Combine that with my other love, watercoloring and I'm a happy gal! Please take a moment to visit the Pretty Pink Posh blog and have a look-see at all of the beautiful submissions. And play along, you could win a prize!

Okie dokie, let's take a look at what I've done for today. I am a day behind on the 30 Day challenge. Yesterday was my youngest daughters 19th birthday and she demanded my full attention...ALL DAY!

Sooo...I decided to pull out a really old Close to My Heart stamp set and do some random stamping.

You may also know that I am not a fan of black embossing powder. That stuff is evil. So instead, I stamped my image with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and covered it with clear fine detail embossing powder. Works like a dream, with no mess! I was planning to add a lot of color and a lot of water, so embossing was best for this project.

I used my new loves, the Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens to color in my blooms. I just added a small amount of color to the center of each petal and blended it out with clean water.  Once all of the petals and leaves were dry, I went in and added a little blue marker and water to the background. And I set it aside to dry.

I have become a BIG fan of the 4 Bar sized card. I think they are so sweet. And that is what I decided to create with my background paper. I used a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die and cut a section out. I ended up with two pieces and only that small frame was left over. Of course I saved it, because why not, I may use it on another project later. But...probably not! LoL!

I kept my cards really simple to let the background paper be the star of the show. I die cut a banner from black card stock, embossed the sentiments in white, mounted everything onto the card base with dimensional adhesive and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins to finish it off.

And now, I have two sweet little thank you cards to add to my stash!

And that is all I have to share with you today. I thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you visit again. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the rest of the Hop! Don't forget to go visit Pretty Pink Posh!

Blessings~

Ooooh, these are so very pretty, Barb! So happy to see you used an older stamp for this card. Gotta love all our goodies, right? You are mastering those pens very well there! Adore the colors you chose and how they pop so nicely against the black. I do have a question...how did you decide which colors to get when you were just starting out with sequins? There are so many colors! Terrific work and thanks for the tips on the black embossing powder. :)

AWESOME cards, Barb! I have that exact stamp set--one of my original CTMH sets that I can't bear to part with. I love what you did with it! And also your directions for making many smaller cards with one WC panel. Brilliant! Great inspiration, thanks! I'm now following your blog, too.

These are very pretty. I love these pens.I laughed when you said you saved the frame because you might use it. Ha! Most of us have a box of "we might use that".

Love your sweet cards. Also reminds me that I have a similar panel of butterflies all stamped, waiting to be coloured during Kathy's colouring challenge.
