Sunflower Power!

Hello Friends and Happy Autumn!  I am so excited that the season is changing. But, even though the calendar says Fall, it's still 100 degrees in my world. I'll have to wait a little while longer for the weather to catch up. I decided to take a little break from sharing the Cards for Kids, because I wanted to post something that would celebrate the new season. Sooo....I decided to play with a Power Poppy digi called Sunflower Power.

I can't say it enough...I adore Marcella Hawley's illustrations! They really do speak to my heart and I receive such joy when I'm working with one of them. I printed this beauty onto a die cut piece of watercolor paper and then I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and water, to color it. The sentiment is from another Power Poppy digi. I love that they come as separate files, so that I can use them on any image. After the image was dry, I went over the petals with a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush.

I tell you what, I am in love with that thing! I am always amazed at how much sparkle it adds! This photo really doesn't do it justice. In real life this thing is dazzling! The focal panel is adhered to the card base with foam tape. I put the focal panel slightly askew to add interest. To finish off the focal panel, I tied on a bit of Linen Thread and added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh sequins. It's short and sweet today! :) Oh! This card will be available for purchase soon in my Card Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Blessings~

This is the best sunflower card I have seen on the many blogs I look at. It is so rich and lively looking. Wonderful job!

Absolutely gorgeous, Barb!! Your coloring truly is amazing, and your sunflower is so life-like {well, I haven't actually seen one wearing glitter, but it looks so good I think you might have started a trend there ;)}! I agree with you on Marcella Hawley's images --so pretty. With her designs and your coloring skills and eye for detail, you can't go wrong. I really like how you off-set the focal panel too. Very sweet card that is sure to brighten someone's life {they may even want to frame it}.

Oh, Barb, I so agree with your about Marcella's artwork - the best! And this is an absolutely gorgeous card - wow! I love that you used the Zig pens...your coloring is fabulous, and I love WInk of Stella too and so appreciate the one photo where it shows the shimmer...yum! And the jute and sequins are just enough for this beauty to shine! I love it all, my friend, and you did "her" justice...beautifully! Hugs, and thanks for such a treat!
