30 Day Coloring Challenge 3 - Day 23

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! I'm still resting these weary eyes of mine. So today, I decided to do something completely different for my coloring. Let's take a look at what I've done...

*Note: I am still having a problem with Blogger. I apologize for the fuzzy photos. Click on them and they will clear up for you.*

I have these Peerless Watercolors and I decided that today was the day to organize them. If you're not familiar with Peerless Watercolors, they are a very unique coloring medium. They are transparent, self-blending watercolors that are highly concentrated. The color is on a special paper fabric that discharges the color the moment it comes in contact with water. I wouldn't say they were fragile, but they are very sensitive to moisture.

I wanted to find a storage system that would allow me to take them with me when I'm on the go. If you did a Google search on Peerless storage I am sure you would find many different systems. But, for my needs, I liked the chart that I found HERE. I printed it out on an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of watercolor paper and cut it in half. Then, I made a color swatch for each film.

This chart is for the Bonus Pack only. It contains 40 different colors. The long pack has 15, I think. I liked this chart because it had the color name already printed on it. I'm a tiny bit of a neat freak and having the names look uniform was really important to me. So, here you can see how vibrant and gorgeous these colors are! I was very excited putting this together, because now I will use them more often. I love the colors.

Okay, so I printed two of the color charts. I made color swatches on one and for the other one, I die cut a piece of the film and adhered it to the chart. These colors are VERY intense and only a small amount of pigment is needed to achieve favorable results. If you click on the link for the chart, you can also see a video showing the watercolors in action. I know these look small, but they are really all I will need for a loooong time.

So, this is the finished project. The swatches and the actual watercolor chips that I die cut. You will notice that the painted colors look NOTHING like the film. That is why it was so important for me to make swatches. And, I cut them this size so they would fit inside of an Avery Elle stamp pocket.

I slipped a piece of white card stock into the pocket and then put one set of colors on each side of it. The actual paint chips are underneath the coordinating swatch. These are activated by the smallest amount of water, so the chips dry very quickly.

Soooo, when I want to do a little watercoloring on the go, I can just grab my Peerless pocket and my travel waterbrushes and off I go!

Now that they are all organized, I need to use them! That's all I have for you today. Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate the visit. Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings~

Relieved that you are resting your eyes. This project looks like a great one for you. I wouldn't have thought to store them for on the go coloring. Very smart is what you are. Thanks for sharing how you organized these. :) HUGS!

Good morning, I found your blog through a link at Power Poppy and so happy I did. I am enjoying looking through your posts. This post is so timely, I have just purchased the bonus pack of Peerless and was trying to decide how to organize them ( like you I have seen many ways on the internet) but this one is perfect. I am going to go check out the download and then get busy. Love the way you have them in the pouches which gives them extra protection. Thanks so much for sharing and wishing you a Happy New Year.
P.S. Love the ministry cards you made for your Mom.
