Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher from Power Poppy

Hello Friends! It's the 25th of the month and that means I have a Power Poppy card to share! Marcella has really provided us with an extra special beauty, called Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher. Just take a look...

Beautiful, right? I just love it! It's absolute perfection. There are sooo many ways to use this. Since everything comes as a separate file, you can add any sentiment you want. Think Mother's Day, Thinking of You, Get Well or Happy Spring!

I chose to use the images included in the set for my card. When I work with Marcy's beautiful illustrations, I like to keep my cards simple, so the focus is on the image. Click to enlarge.

I printed the pitcher of tulips and the sentiment on a die cut piece of Bristol. I wanted to watercolor the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and Bristol is an excellent choice for this. It's not watercolor paper, so one has to take care not to add too much water, otherwise the paper pills. So, I use a slightly damp brush and to make sure that I can't add too much water, I use a size 0 brush. It's very small, very fine and it doesn't hold much water. This makes the process go a little slower, but I would rather go slower, and not ruin my image. After the piece was dry, I went over the blooms with a Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush.

I tell you...I swoon when I look at this image! It's sooo gorgeous! I have printed it several times, so don't be surprised if you see it in several different colorways! The set included a greeting that could be used for the inside of the card, as well...

I printed this out on Neenah Solar White. The "Happy Birthday" greeting is from a different digital stamp set and is noted below. To finish the card, I mounted the focal onto my card base with dimensional adhesive and added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins for interest and a little more sparkle!

Please take a moment to buzz over to the Power Poppy blog. The ladies have created some absolutely fabulous samples to share with you. And then, pop over to the Power Poppy Shop and add this beauty to your collection. If you're not sure how to use a digital stamp, click HERE.

That's it for me today. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Blessings~

Barb, this is just beautiful! I love the softness of the tulip colors you've used here, and the little details like the border and the diagonal plaid strip paper below it. The inside is special, too! Excellent work!
