Power Poppy ~ Juicy Strawberries

Hello Friends! I've got some yummy Power Poppy goodies to share so let's jump right in...

Marcella has given us a cluster of Juicy Strawberries to play with. Just look at it!

Sweet, huh? And those sentiments? Those are quotes from some of the ladies on the Design Team. Like my dear friend Cheryl, she always greets me with "Hello Sweet Friend". And I usually close my emails to Marcella with, "sending you a big ol' juicy hug". LoL! I love that she took our sayings and incorporated them into a digi set! Soooo very cool!

When I first saw this image, a few ideas came to mind. I knew I wanted to watercolor it and I knew I wanted to use gingham paper. And that is what I did here...click the photo to enlarge it.

I printed the image onto a die cut piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Card Stock and I used my new Aquarelle watercolor pencils to color it. After the focal was dry, I matted it with the yellow card stock and tied on some Baker's Twine. Then, I mounted it onto the card base with foam adhesive.  I printed the sentiment onto a scrap of TH Distress Watercolor Card Stock and then used a Stampin' Up! punch on it. The yellow mat was die cut with a Scallop Circle Nestie. To finish off the focal panel, I added clear Wink of Stella to the blooms, Crystal Effects to the berries and I put on a few Sparkling Clear sequins to add a little more va-voom! Here, you can a teensie bit of the juicy shine on the berries...

And that was that! Please take a moment to buzz by the Power Poppy blog to see what my Teammies have for you. Marcella released two beautiful sets today and I am only showcasing one of them. So, you'll want to stop by and see the other one. It's called Created to Create and it's a doozie! Here's a peek...

It is gorgeous! Those delightful daffodils and the watercolors...ahhh! It's perfect and I plan to use it really soon. I think this would be fantastic enlarged to 5x7 or 8x10 and watercolored, then framed. I may do that and hang it in The Hive.

Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate the visit. Have a marvelous Monday!

Blessings~

This card is fantastic! What a delightful image and those sentiments make me smile. Well, so does your card. I absolutely adore the down home country feel of this one. You've colored it to perfection, my sweet friend. I love the blue gingham color, which is paired perfectly with the yellow. How DO you make those bows look so good?! Fantastic card! Wish I could give you a big old juicy hug about now, too. :)
