Power Poppy ~ Layer Cake Card

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! In case you haven't heard, Power Poppy is TWO! There's a big celebration going on over on the Power Poppy blog. You'll want to buzz by and take part in the festivities! Marcella created an adorable new digi set for the occasion and right now it's on sale for only TWO BUCKS! It's called Layer Cake and I had fun making this card with it...please click to enlarge.

I printed the image onto cream colored card stock and I used ink pads and a Dove Blender to color it. I went with one of my favorite cake flavors; lemon cake with lemon frosting! Yum-o! I added Crystal Effects to the dots and TONS of glitter on the banner poles and cake plate. What's a celebration without glitter?! No. Fun. So, I piled it on and man oh man, does this card sparkle! I sprinkled a few iridescent stars around the banner, too. The "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment is from another digi set, called Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher. You can read all about that gorgeousness right HERE.

Anywhooo...I used one of the sentiments from the set to create a panel for the inside of the card...

And that's all there was to it! Quick and easy! This is a super fun set to work with and every collection needs a good cake image.  Go grab the Layer Cake digi set and make a few cards to add to your stash!

That's it for me today! Thank you for stopping by!

Blessings~

It looks glorious with all that glitter! And quite delicious as well. I think those little sequin stars are adorable. Great background paper to set off the fun image! Purely wonderful! Hugs!!
