Hello Friends! It's the 15th of the month and that means that there is a brand new digi set in the Power Poppy shop. It's called Rose & Chamomile and it's absolutely gorgeous. See for yourself...
June is National Rose month and Marcella has given us quite a beauty to work with. This image is so versatile and can be used for a variety of occasions; birthday, thank you, thinking of you, even sympathy. Roses are always appropriate! Roses also happen to be my favorite flower. I'm a big fan of the garden varieties, you know the ones we grow at home. They produce the biggest, most fragrant blooms. And if they aren't sprayed with pesticides, they can be used for scenting sugar, added to tea or used to make rose water. At one time, I had a a flower bed with 22 rose bushes in it and when they bloomed, I would open the living room window and breathe in that heady fragrance. It was a lot of work to keep everything looking nice, but it was well worth the effort. Ok...enough chatter...
Here is my card...
Don't you just LOVE this image?! I sure do. I printed it onto watercolor paper and colored it with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Pens. I tell you what...it's a love/hate thing with those pens. The sparkle they add is AMAZING! But...sometimes they leak or let out a big BLOB of sparkly ink. When they work though, it's a dream. I added a bit of color and then moved it around with a paint brush. I also used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens to color the chamomile flowers and leaves.
You can see a little of the sparkle here.
The card is very simply constructed. It's got a few layers and the focal image has been dry embossed and lightly inked. It was matted with a scalloped Nestie and adhered with foam tape. I used the greeting that is included in the set and I just love the font! It's so pretty and delicate. I added a few pearls and finished off the card by adding a some highlights onto the rose hips.
That's all I have to share with you today. Please take a moment to visit the Power Poppy blog to see what my Teammates have in store for you. There is soooo much inspiration using this set, I know you will want to add this one to your collection.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings~

Oh, sweet Barb, this is gorgeous, and I love the beautiful coloring and how you've embossed the oval and lightly inked while inside the die. Beautiful color combination, and I love the DP you've used and how you've added the pearls -- a perfect finishing touch for this beauty! Oh, I had a "whoopsie" myself and was able to recover from it. And I see you did too. Beautifully done, sweet friend! Big hugs!
ah! Love this rose! And the greeting and the font! Oh so beautiful! Pinning!
Absolutely, positively gorgeous, Barb! I so enjoy when you share little bits of yourself like your rose garden. I can well imagine how amazing it must have smelled. When I was growing up, our neighbor grew rose bushes in his backyard. I mean it was like a maze, walking through it there were so many. The fragrance was heavenly. Your card evokes sweet memories of going to their house and wandering his rose garden. Thank you! Beautiful coloring created a beautiful card. Hugs!!
So pretty. Love the beautiful rose and your coloring. TFS
