Hello Friends! Today is July 5th and that means that there is a new re-mixed digi in the Power Poppy shop. This one is extra special to me. Take a look at it and you'll see why.
It's called Sweet Simple Things and it features this beautifully illustrated bee skep, surrounded by foxglove and lots of little buzzy bees! Oh my goodness, it's sooo me! The quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder is perfect for this sweet image. It just reminds us to slow down, take a moment to stop and take in all the blessings and beauty around us. And with all that's going on in our world, focusing on the sweet, simple things is becoming more and more necessary.
My card...
I printed this one up right away on my favorite Cryogen Iridescent White card stock, . I love this card stock because it has sparkles pressed right into the paper. The paper is smooth and the sparkle doesn't flake off and it doesn't interfere with the coloring. I used Copic markers to color up this beauty. Then I die cut the focal and while it was still in the die, I dusted on a bit of blue and green Distress Ink. I matted the focal onto another die cut and mounted that onto my card base with foam tape. I added Tiny Twinkles to the flower centers and went over a few things with a Clear Wink of Stella. :) LOVE my Wink of Stella.
I wanted to use the quote included in the stamp set, so I decided to put it on the inside of the card.
I printed the quote onto smooth white card stock and die cut it with a Simon Says Stamp rectangle die. Then, I just adhered everything down. And that was all there was to it!
Please take a moment to buzz by the Power Poppy blog to see what my teammies have to share with you. And...as this is Day One of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge...I hope you're coloring! ~smiles~
Blessings~

Oh, sweet Barb, this image is so you with the bee a-buzzing! What joy it must have been to color it up! It's beautifully done, and I love the layout with the honeycomb DP you've used. And the inside is lovely with this quote. I plan to use it for my card inside as well...it's just perfect, isn't it? Love it all! Hugs, sweet friend!
Everyone's cards are different and all so beautiful! I love how you went with the honeycomb and honey color theme with this. Love those stamped bees buzzing in the background. Beautifully colored on the cryogen iridescent paper. I'm so intrigued by that. So pretty with the extra sparkle you gave it, too!
Very pretty! Love the papers, and the tiny little stamped bees finish off your card perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
So pretty, I like the little bees flitting around along with the honeycomb paper! Your coloring of the cool image is really beautiful :)
Cute card - great design!
Oh I just love your card Barb. Love the behive paper and your sweet little tag!
Wow Barb - this is gorgeous inside and out and so SWEET I can almost taste the honey!!! Love the design, fabulous colouring and the tone on tone bees in the background! Gorgeous!!!
This is one beautiful card, Barb! How it suits you and almost all that you love. I think if there was a teensy tea cup tucked in there, then it would round out in its perfectness! But seriously, beautiful and delightful work here. You've colored it so well and you always "complete" your cards to perfection. The bees in the background to the oh so true sentiment on the inside. Thank you for sharing this beauty!! Hugs!!
Thank you sweet Sheila! I appreciate you stopping by!
Beautiful card Barb!
