Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! It's the 15th of the month and that means I have a brand new digital stamp set to share with you. Marcella is gearing up for the kick off of her clear stamp Holiday release and this new digi set is a great teaser for what's to come. Take a look at Chickadee in Barberry.
This set features this sweet chickadee on a snow laden branch of barberry. It includes four sentiments that are guaranteed to get you in the mood for creating Christmas cards. I used the image from the set and paired it with a Season's Greetings sentiment from another Power Poppy set, which is noted in the supply list.
Here is my card...please click on the images to enlarge them.
I printed my image onto a piece of smooth white card stock and colored it with Polychromos colored pencils. I used a Derwent Blender pencil to smooth out my pencil work. After the coloring was finished, I used a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die to die cut the focal panel. Then, I brushed on Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the image, while it was still in the die. That way, I was able to keep a nice clean white border. I matted the panel with Cherry Cobbler card stock and adhered that to my card base.
I added Liquid Applique, sprinkled with glitter, onto the snowy parts and I used a Clear Spectrum Sparkle pen on the berries and the little bird's eye.
This image was a delight to color. I am already working on another card featuring this sweet little guy. The finished size of this card is 5 x 7. It's larger than the A2 size cards I usually create. It's a special request from my brother. He prefers to send out large cards, I hope he likes this one!
Thank you so much for visiting me today! I appreciate you. Please take a moment to visit the Power Poppy blog to see the wonderful samples my teammates have created to share with you.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings~

So cute. A great choice of colors and trim. Edna Burgess
Just gorgeous! The chickadee is one of my favorite birds. Your card is a love image of a winter one (fluffy).

Barb, this is GORGEOUS, and I love your coloring! You are amazing with pencils, and I love how you've added the Tumbled Glass for shading and the sweet "snow" on the branches! Stunning layout for a beautiful large card that your brother will LOVE! Hugs, sweet friend!
