Power Poppy ~ Cup of Columbine

Hello, Friends! I have a new Power Poppy digi set to share with you. It's called Cup of Columbine and it is SO cute! Take a look...

Here's what Marcella has to say about her newest illustration...

"A delicate teacup overflowing with pretty plants is steeped in detail and delight. Columbine (Aquilegia) flowers intermingle with ruffled miniature Hosta leaves for a bouquet that will tickle your coloring fancy all the way through summer. You get two designs — one with the flowers and teacup only, and a second, more challenging composition with a baby robin snapping up a few of the Columbine seeds. Both images have a lighter "no line" version included."

Isn't this darling?! I love, love, love when Marcy gives us teacup designs. THEN, she goes and throws a bird AND an egg into the mix! *swoon* I adore this set and I will be reaching for it again and again. This one can be used for many and any occasion; birthday, Mother's Day, thinking of you, Happy Spring! and even sympathy.

Here is the card I created...

I kept things clean and simple. The image is printed onto smooth white card stock and colored with Staedler colored pencils. I received a set of 72 of these pencils as a gift and decided to try them out. And much to my surprise...I love them! They blend so beautifully. I paper pieced the napkin with the same paper I used in the background. I added tiny twinkles to a few of the columbine seeds that are falling from the buds. This is SUCH a cute set! Then I mounted the focal with foam tape and called it done. Oh! I used a Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Square die to cut out the focal panel. And while the image was still in the die, I dusted on a bit of Broken China Distress Ink. As a finishing touch, I went over the columbine petals with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen.

Please take a moment to visit the Power Poppy blog to read what Marcella shares about these amazing flowers. And while you're there, check out what my teammates have created to share with you.

Thank you for visiting me today!

Blessings~
