Day 13 ~ The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello, Friends! I know I'm missing a few days. I posted on Instagram and just wasn't up to writing a blog post, too. But, I'm back for day 13! Are you having fun?

So, for today, I colored up this sweet little branch of rose buds. I'm going to create a card for a friend who is battling cancer.

I've had this stamp for a while. It's from Memory Box and it's called Hope Collage. I love it. Very sweet and easy to use. I stamped the image in gray onto patterned paper. Then I colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I added a bit of sparkle to the rose buds but, it doesn't show up very well.

That's it for me! Thanks for poppin in!

Breast Cancer Awareness Goodie Bags

Hello Friends! Happy Sunday to you. As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and if you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that this is a cause that is very close to my heart. Each year, I try to create a project featuring pink things to raise awareness for this disease. to view previous BCA projects, click HERE. I know there are only a few days left in the month and I'm cutting it close, but today, I have a project to share. I created these little goodie bags for my mother's Bible study group.

I used the Goodie Bag die from Lawn Fawn for the bags. I love the die! It's going to get a lot of use around here. I've seen the bags tied off with ribbon or twine, and I like the look, but when I tried it with these, it didn't look right, so I omitted it. I stamped the ribbon image onto pink card stock, fussy cut them out, then added a bit of glitter. After I stamped the word HOPE onto white card stock, I free hand cut around the word and then sponged on some Distress Ink. The ribbon is adhered flat on the bags and HOPE is adhered with foam tape.

Not wanting the back of the bags to be left plain, I stamped a sentiment onto white card stock, die cut it and sponged around it while it was still in the die. After the pictures were taken, I added two bitty butterflies to the sentiment piece and that finished it off very nicely.

So for the treat inside, I searched and searched for BCA packaged candy. I can usually find a nice surplus of it. Not this year. Sooo, I used Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate squares with Raspberry filling. Actually, those are my favorite, so it was just fine with me!

That's all I have to share today. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Thanks for the LIFT

Hello Friends! Happy Friday!  I made another card for the Tic-Tac-Toe game on the Meljen's Designs blog. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I chose the Little Brassiere image and my tic-tac-toe is 'buttons, ribbon, eyelets'. I wanted to keep my card a little clean and simple...I was inspired by a card  I saw on Pinterest.

Isn't this image just SO cute? And it's on SALE until October 31. In fact ALL of Meljen's Designs are on sale right now. I printed my image on X-Press It Blending Card and colored it with Copic markers. I thought the greeting, 'thanks for the lift' was perfect with the image...adds a touch of humor.  Okay, so are you wondering where the eyelet is? It's on the inside...

It's a cute little pink ribbon eyelet! I left plenty of room for writing a message. Clean and Simple!

Another Thank You

I'm going to keep my post short and sweet. My best friend Tiffany is coming over today, we're making cards for the church Christmas boutique. She was over last week, too and we gabbed so much we got very little accomplished. We must do better today, right Tiff? .

This is another 'thank you' card I made for my Gold Canyon Candle customers.

Thanks So Much...

This is definitely NOT Autumn weather. It's mid 90's in my world. I am not a happy camper. We still have patio umbrellas in place, we are still running our pool equipment and I have on my a/c instead of having the windows open. All of this would be fine...in JULY! The forecast for the remainder of the week doesn't look much better. At least by weeks end we'll be experiencing temps in the mid 80's...whooo! let me get out my sweaters! Okay...enough ranting. Onto the card...

This is the card that my Gold Canyon customers receive when they purchase one of the Pink Sugar Cookie Breast Cancer Awareness candles.

Papers, card stock, button and stamps are from PaperTrey Ink. The breast cancer awareness brad, I got from Our Daily Bread Designs. The image and sentiment are stamped with Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink. It has a subtle shimmer to it...very pretty! The flower pot is adhered with dimensionals from Stampin' Up!

Thank you for visiting me!

Been Busy...

I have been busy filling orders for the HOPE card I posted earlier this month! The response for this card has completely overwhelmed me! Of course I was thrilled to see the requests in my e-mail box and I am just about at the end of them. I decided to just focus on making these cards and nothing else because I really wanted to get them out before the end of the month. Thank you so much to all who placed orders! Here is another peek at the HOPE card in case you missed it. You can click here to read the original post and to see the inside of the card.

Think Pink!

I am making a few cards to send to family and friends who are or were battling breast cancer. I was inspired by some goodies I saw on Becca's blog. I used the HOPE set from Our Daily Bread Designs. I fell in love with all of their sets, because not only are the designs beautiful, but there are a lot of Scripture verses in each set. LOVE that!

The card is pretty self-explanatory. It was a very easy one to make. Using my Scor-Pal made quick work of all the score lines. I stamped my images on white cardstock, inked the edges, added a pink ribbon eyelet, gave the pink ribbon image a light dusting of glitter, popped everything up on pop dots and tied it off with a bit of ribbon. Easy as can be! I shot a photo of the card in each of its three stages...

This next shot shows the card partially open. In real life, it looks pretty just like this because you can see all of the different layers at once.

And finally, the card fully opened. It does stand on its own and could be used as an inspirational spot on a desk or shelf. The backside has plenty of room for writing a note or adding another sentiment.

Supplies-Cardstock:White Daisy(CTMH).Pink Pirouette(SU!). Dark Pink-Baby Pink Medium(Prism). Stamp:Hope(ODBD). Ink:Blush(CTMH). Other:Dazzling Diamonds(SU!). Pink Ribbon eyelet(ODBD). Ribbon:Offray. Corner Rounder:Creative Memories.

Thanks for the visit! Be Blessed~

Pink Ribbons...

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I wanted to be sure to acknowledge my friends and family members who are or were battling this disease. You may have noticed the PINK RIBBON icon on my blog, right now it's at the very top as a reminder to all of us to get a mammogram. If you would take a moment each time you visit my blog and click on that pink ribbon and then click on the mammogram link, you will help to provide free mammograms for women who can not afford one.

There are several women in my life who have been touched by breast cancer. Some are cancer free, some are still in the fight and sadly, a few have succumbed.

Marlene*
Robin*
Dorothy*
My cousin, Jennifer*
Jeanette
Sherrill
Aunt Barbara
Kathy
Nancy
Elizabeth**
Aunt Paula**
Aunt Tiny**

*still in the fight.
**succumbed.

I am sure that each of you could add names to my list.Together, we can make a difference. Many retailers are selling 'pink' items this month and a portion of the profits from those items goes to assist with breast cancer research. WE NEED TO FIND A CURE! And that takes money. Please consider making a 'pink' purchase this month.
Thanks for stopping by today.
