Praise Report and a Card, too!

I do have a praise report for you! Yesterday, Victoria was accepted with Honors at the private Christian University of her choice-her top pick in fact-and she will receive a Dean's Scholarship. We are so excited, I am sure each of you could hear our screaming and celebrating where you live! This makes us so very happy, because many of you may know, that we were a home schooling family, until June 2008 when Vic graduated high school. You can't begin to know how many nay-sayers we encountered; people thinking we were ruining our children or thinking they were not receiving a quality education, or that they would be social misfits. And here we have come full circle and we are blessed with this reward. I tell you...you can't out give God! Stick to His plan and He will see you thru to the end! These next few months are going to be a whirlwind of planning and preparation. Thankfully, she will not be too far from home, but far enough for her to gain some independence. The school she has chosen is superb! Many well-known pastors and evangelists are graduates of this university and the school as well as its academic programs has earned many coveted awards. We are very proud of her and we know that she is well on her way to accomplishing all that God has planned for her.

Now on to the card...


I have always loved silhouettes. My grandmother had them in her dressing room. There was one of each of us kids. She also had some in the powder rooms, of ladies doing various things and then in my grandpa's office, there was 'guy stuff', fishing and hunting. I also love toile. Same concept, only usually in color. Well. I found a set of silhouette digital images and I could not resist. This card here was put together in a matter of minutes-it probably looks like it too-but I just wanted to get the images onto something so I could look at them! They are lovely! This is one of my favorites, there are more, which you may see in the coming weeks, but this one, with the children and their birds, just really captured my heart. If you've read my blog for a while, you'll know about the special relationship I have with my Grands, both deceased.-Man! That makes me sad.-Anyway...I got my love of birds and all things "nature" from my Grands. Today, this image is on a card. My plan is to resize it and frame it. BTW...the little flower frog,that my card is on, came from my grandmother. I've brought out a lot of her things to use when I photograph the silhouette projects. You all can not even know how much I miss that lady!
