Here is Victoria with the sweetest doggie on the planet...Maxwell William, you can call him Maxx.
Now on to the card...
I have always loved silhouettes. My grandmother had them in her dressing room. There was one of each of us kids. She also had some in the powder rooms, of ladies doing various things and then in my grandpa's office, there was 'guy stuff', fishing and hunting. I also love toile. Same concept, only usually in color. Well. I found a set of silhouette digital images and I could not resist. This card here was put together in a matter of minutes-it probably looks like it too-but I just wanted to get the images onto something so I could look at them! They are lovely! This is one of my favorites, there are more, which you may see in the coming weeks, but this one, with the children and their birds, just really captured my heart. If you've read my blog for a while, you'll know about the special relationship I have with my Grands, both deceased.-Man! That makes me sad.-Anyway...I got my love of birds and all things "nature" from my Grands. Today, this image is on a card. My plan is to resize it and frame it. BTW...the little flower frog, that my card is on, came from my grandmother. I've brought out a lot of her things to use when I photograph the silhouette projects. You all can not even know how much I miss that lady!

Kudos to Victoria and to you for doing what you believed in. As for your card, it's gorgeous. I share your love for silhouettes and toile. Butterflies, too!!!
Oh Barb! That is fantastic news! Congratulations to your daughter and kudos to YOU for sticking to your guns and doing what was right for your family. Awesome!
Oh and the card is beautiful! I used to try to do silhouettes (even tried Scherenschnitte (sp) which is the craft of cutting them out. I came across some books when I pulled out the dollhouse a few weeks ago...no wonder we get along so well...hee, hee, we love the same things!
Congratulations, Barb! I am doing the happy dance for you and your family. That is awesome! I have so much respect for you to be able to home school. I don't think I could do it. I totally understand why you did.
AND your card.....
Beautiful! I love the silhouettes, especially with your explanation about your grandparents.
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you guys. I hope you don't miss her too much (like I do with Rylee). It's so wonderful to see your children doing well and getting in to schools they love, isn't it?
