Design Team Share Day @ MelJen's

Hello Friends! Today is Design Team Share day at Meljen's Designs. Every month, the DT is presented with a theme and we get to create a project to share on the MelJen's DT blog. Our theme this month is INSPIRATION. My inspiration today, comes from a fancy folded card I viewed on Pinterest. This a Joy Fold card, featuring the pre-colored digital stamp, Loving Ewe.

I love working with the pre-colored digis. All of the coloring is done for me, so I can focus on patterned paper selection and card design. Just a little FYI...For those of you who like to color, the Loving Ewe is also available in black and white. As usual, I printed this little cutie on Presentation Paper, which is just a coated specialty paper, that makes colored prints pop. It is often used for printing hybrid projects and digital scrapbook pages.

I outlined the curly-swirlies with a glitter pen, fussy cut the heart and adhered it with foam tape.

If you search YouTube for JOY FOLD CARD, you will be presented with many options. I could not find why this fold was given this name, but I liked it! Most of the cards I have seen with this fold, have an embellishment closure. I opted to use ribbon. Let's take a look at how it all unfolds....

Untie the bow...and we see that the focal image overlaps the left side panel.

Then, both panels open to reveal another panel on the inside, that can be decorated and used for a written message. Pretty nifty, huh? It was a fun card to make. I liked being able to showcase so many different patterned papers. I will definitely be using this fold again.

I have been asked about the CAS2 card class projects...I am still taking the classes, but I decided to take a little more time to create each project, so I could produce something I would be proud to sell or send. I will be posting my artwork, as I can. The beauty of the online classes, is that I have lifetime access to all of the material and I can view it any time. Sooo...just keep watching...new CAS2 posts coming soon!

Thank you so much for dropping in!  Have a fabulous day!

 Blessings~
