Watercolor Class ~ Lesson Four

Hello Friends! This is my second post for the day. If you are looking for the MelJen's Designs Thursday Challenge, please scroll down.

Lesson Four in the Watercolor for Cardmakers Class, presented quite a challenge for me. I made several attempts, using several stamps. The challenge was not the technique, rather, I was having a difficult time finding a stamp that would work with the technique taught. It seemed that everything I tried, failed. Finally, I just decided to go with a set from Stampin' Up! and I really like the finished project.

The idea with this lesson was to paint over a stamped image to make it look as if it were watercolored...Faux hand-painting. Easy enough if one has the right stamp. Anyway...here is my card...

I really enjoyed this lesson and the teachers were fabulous! After die-cutting the watercolor paper, I inked the image with Distress Markers and painted it using Distress Inks pads and water. I created shadows and shading with the Distress Markers. For a bit of whimsy, and because most of the teachers are doing it, I added a few ink spatters to the image. Fun! Fun!

Thank you for stopping by today! See you tomorrow with the MelJen's Friday Freebie!

Blessings~

Beautifully done, Barb. The flower is so pretty and delicate looking, exactly like a watercolor painting. The bow and sequins are perfect as is the splatter. This is classically elegant.
