Hello Friends! I'm here with my Day Three coloring project. It was a struggle getting this to come together. There were a few mishaps along the way; Smearing the ink, dripping Gamesol, using the wrong end of the blending stump...But, I kept going. Let me show you what I came up with today.
I wanted to listen to piano music, today. So I listened to The Piano Guys. If you've never heard them, please take a moment to check them out. You can view their videos on YouTube. Many of the videos are just as beautiful as their music. Here is a sampling...just calms my soul. I hope you enjoy!
I wanted to use my Prisma Color pencils and I wanted to color a floral image. So, these are my cast of characters...
I chose to work with a stamp set from Papertrey Ink, Friendship Jar Summer Fillers. I stamped the image onto Neenah Solar white 80lb card stock, using Smokey Slate ink from Stampin' Up! I selected the pencil colors I wanted and began coloring.
As I stated at the beginning of my post, I had several mishaps and I started the project over a few times. I honestly felt like it took me all day to color this. But, I had my music playing and I just relaxed and went with it. This is the largest image I have colored with the pencils and I was a bit apprehensive about the out come. I had to keep reminding myself that this is what the challenge is all about...coloring and trying new things. Breathe. Relax. Have fun. Enjoy.
So, after I finished blending everything, I added the yellow centers to the blooms and 'water' to the jar with Copic markers. I felt that the jar looked a little empty because the stamp didn't include flower stems. But trust me, I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, so I didn't dare attempt to draw anything on this. I decided to add the bow that was included in the stamp set to take up some of the visual space of the jar. I think it finishes it off nicely and definitely adds a little something extra. That bow is going to look EXTRA fabulous after I go over it with a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush!
This is my finished piece...
I stamped the jar off center on purpose. When I make this into a card, I plan to add a greeting to the bottom right. There's a bitty bumble bee in the set, too, and I will probably add that as well.
So, that's it for me today. I'm going to go listen to some more piano music and enjoy a nice, hot cup of tea.
Thanks for stopping by!
Blessings~

The Piano Guys are awesome and so are their videos! What a lovely backdrop to your coloring adventure. I feel for you with the mishaps you mentioned, but am proud for you that you stuck with it and colored a gorgeous piece! Good for you for not letting the problems sway you away from continuing. Your image is absolutely lovely and well worth the effort you made to color it! :)
Barb, I love your delicate and lovely coloring. The bow is a perfect addition.
