Day 13 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge 2

Hello Friends! I know you're super busy because it's the weekend, so I will be brief. Since I had the Lawn Fawn Life is Good stamp set on my work table, I thought I'd go ahead and use it again. This time I did a bit of watercoloring with Distress Markers.

To create the background, I started by stamping the sandbanks. Then I masked it and I gave the whole top portion a wash of clean water, picked up the ink that I had smooshed onto my craft sheet and brushed it on. After it had dried a little, I went back in and added the 'waves' using the same color ink that I used for the background. Next, I colored in the sand, using the same smooshing and painting technique. I set the background piece aside to dry and worked on the other elements.

I used the Distress Markers to color directly onto the stamp and then I stamped the images onto watercolor paper. I used a damp paint brush to move the color around and I let them dry completely before die cutting. Next, I stamped the greeting and the birds onto the main panel and assembled the pieces. I adhered the palm trees with dimensional adhesive and the hammock is flush mounted. The palm trees and the hammock looks like a smile!

This is all ready to be put on a card....later!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Blessings~

I'm so glad that even on a busy weekend you are sharing, Barb! I really like the scene you have created here. Thanks for sharing the steps you take to color your scene. It is so helpful. I adore the calm and happy scene (yep, love that smile one sees in the palm trees and hammock)! Well done. Have a great day! :)
