Father's Day Card

Inspired by this beauty, I created this card for my dad. He's not a hunter, but he enjoys nature and being outdoors. I think he'll like it. I don't know if it shows well in the photo, but I stamped the duck image, cut it out and put him up on pop dots. I also used my Prism papers again...I really like them. The colors are beautiful and vibrant and they have a subtle texture on one side. Very nice papers to work with. My dad is really cute. I have been making him cards since I was in the 2nd grade, and guess what? He has ALL of them and in a strong box, no less, should his house catch fire! Gotta save those handmade cards! LOL! His birthday is the day after Father's Day, so I think I will make him a card using the cute little fish from the same set, Papertrey Ink's Pond Life.

Credits-Cardstock:CMTH-Garden Green, Colonial White. Prism-Suede Dark Brown. Background paper-K&Co. Hampton Plaid. Ink:Tsukineko-Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate. VersaMagic in Sea Breeze, Mango Madness, Tea Leaves and Jumbo Java. Stamp:Papertrey Ink-Pond Life. Ribbon:Offray Chocolate Brown Grosgrain, JoAnn. Other:Acrylic Discs, Michael's.

I'm glad you stopped by today. Be Blessed!

This is one beautiful card, Barb! Very serene. Love that you pop dotted the duck (I can tell :o) )

What I especially love though, is that your dad saved ALL the cards you've made him. That's pretty special! You are truly blessed!

What a great 'guy' card -- perfect for any outdoorsman! Your story about your dad keeping all your cards in a strong box is so sweet -- I'm sure your cards are truly among his most treasured possessions, and that he would go to such lengths to keep them 'safe' is just so telling of his love for you. So sweet.
