Flip Front Little Lady

My blog buddy Jeanne has the cutest little fishy card posted on her blog right now. And she was kind enough to share the link for the tutorial for making her card. I decided to make one for a friend, who is going thru a really tough patch in her life. I included the link for the tutorial, because Kim explains everything beautifully. The card is very fun and easy to make, I plan on making a few more as I break in some new stamp sets.

I used CTMH textured cardstock, which is really nice because it is also double-sided, one side is textured and the other side is a lighter version of the textured side. Makes coordinating colors a breeze. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's 'Gypsy' pad and I used chalk inks, which I love because they look so 'touch-able' and velvety. I also used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and my Scor-Pal. Since the card has a flip front, it can be used as is or it can be adhered to a folded card base,which gives lots of writing room since the sentiment is inside the flip! Very clever idea, I think. I stamped the lady bugs trail and the sentiment in CTMH Garden Green and the flowers in VersaMagic Chalk Ink. After I posted this, I went back to the card and added a bit of bling, by outlining the flowers and the trail with my Copic glitter pens.
