Missing You

When I first saw the Birds of a Feather stamp set at PTI, I knew I had to have it. I paired this little guy with my favorite CTMH paper pack and created this card, in remembrance of my Grandmother, who would have really enjoyed our day yesterday. That lady was the Queen of Tea Parties! China, crystal, and silver, nothing else would do! And she shared all she knew about cooking and entertaining with me. Starting from when I was a little girl, I remember standing on a chair in the kitchen, looking into her pots. And she made the best pancakes in the world, from scratch. No Bisquick here! My grandparents had a hilltop garden, where I could see and hear all kinds of birds, and my Grandfather would point out and identify most of those birds. Even now, a flock of birds can still take my breath away. We ate fresh vegetables and fruit from their garden and we watched NO television-gasp!-no TV allowed. We read. A LOT. And played games and talked. And when I would tire of that I would grab my art box and color. There really are very few days that pass, where I don't share a story or a memory about my Grands with the girls. I so appreciate all the things I learned from them and all of the experiences we shared. Everything from gardening and nest hunting, to dressing up and going downtown to the Theatre for a Sunday matinee to see a play or musical, to our walks to the Library and then to Thrifty for ice cream. Fun, fun times..I really do miss them.

Simple but meaningful.

Very pretty, Barb! I love the scoring around the cut-out frame. You can't go wrong with those Silhouette papers!

You are doing great things with that ScorPal. Mine, however, hasn't made it out of the packaging ... yet. What a lovely background story to go with that card.
