Time Well Spent

My girls asked me to give them a card workshop. The technique I taught them was crayon resist, from a tutorial I saw on Kim's blog. I also showed them the emboss resist technique, which is one I learned in a CTMH workshop a while ago. I let them choose which one they wanted to try and then just let the good times roll. I tell you, I was so happy to have this time with them and the fact that they came to me and asked for the workshop, just thrilled my heart. The cards are pretty straight forward. I hope you enjoy viewing our creations, as much I as enjoyed sharing that special time with my girls.

I have a long table set up in our living room, because my scrap space is under-going a transformation... Another post. Another time.

Now on to the cards...

This first card was made by Vic. She used the crayon resist technique and daubers to apply the inks. I showed them the techniques using both daubers and sponges and let them decide which they would like to use.

Supplies-All CTMH. Cardstock:White Daisy. Stamp:Treasures of the Heart. Inks:Black, Hydrangea, Hollyhock. White Crayon:Crayola. Acrylic Discs:Michael's. Ribbon:from my stash.

This next one was made by MissyP, using the emboss resist technique and a sponge to apply the ink. The inks she used are very light, so I had to make the picture a bit darker in order for the colors to show up on camera.

Supplies-All CTMH. Cardstock:White Daisy. Stamp:Simple Beauty-SOM(retired). Inks:Buttercup,Breeze,Pink Carnation. Other:Clear embossing powder. Ribbon:from my stash.

And finally, here is the card I made, using the crayon resist technique. I used the daubers with my inks. I did make another one, using the sponge and I think I like it better because the colors are softer and blended better.

Supplies-All CTMH. Cardstock:White Daisy, Twilight, Sweet Leaf. Stamp:Friendship Blessings. Inks:Black, Twilight, Sweet Leaf. White Crayon:Crayola. Corner Rounder:Creative Memories. Ribbon:from my stash. Acrylic discs:Michael's.

Thanks for the visit! See you tomorrow...
