I have been reading
The Quilter's Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini, which is a delighful tale about women and their love of quilting. I have never learned to quilt, but love the art of quilting. I have a dear friend who is learning to quilt and I thought I would make her a few of these cards for a Christmas gift. I think she'll like them. I gave her one today, as a teaser and she was very pleased. The pattern for this can be found on Nona's
Classy Crafts video. I have, however, found other quilt patterns that I would love to use for making cards, but it will take time for me to adapt them. If anyone knows of other card tutorials that feature quilt patterns, please let me know. I want to make an assortment of cards for each season for her and I think it would be nice if the patterns were varied.
It's no secret that I love the CTMH Silhouette papers, so of course I used them to make a few of these quilt cards. Click on the photos to enlarge them.
Supplies-All CTMH. Cardstock and papers: Boom-Di-Ada paper pack 2. Silhouette paper pack 2. Inks:Black, Barn Red, Hollyhock. Stamps:Cup of Friendship. Make it Count. Ribbon:Black organdy, Pink organdy. Ivory grosgrain(Wrights). Buttons:from my stash.
Be Blessed!

Love the cards. AND, I have to say that I always enjoy "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" when I visit your blog!
What beautiful cards, Barb! My grandma used to quilt a LOT and my mom has done her fair share as well. Your cards bring back some fond memories for me. Love your colors choices too. ;)
Wow, Barb! These are so pretty. I love both of these paper packs and they look great on these. Awesome!
