Birthday Cupcake

I needed a birthday card for a very good guy friend of mine and I wanted to use this paper pack. I also wanted to use my new cupcake stamps from PTI. So, I sat down in my studio and got to work! Since the background paper has so many words on it, I thought it best not to add a sentiment to the outside of the card. After I stamped my image and did a bit of paper piecing on the liner cup~it's so cute~and cut everything out with Nesties, I thought...hey! I'll give this a shot of Shimmerz Spritz to add a little sparkle. BAD IDEA for me. The spray came out in big blops, it completely soaked my card, which curled and wrinkled the paper and card stock. I was sooo glad I had not adhered my focal image on yet! I put the card in between a piece of white paper and stuck it in my giant dictionary. Then I stacked more books on top of that and put my Cuttlebug on top of it for good measure! LOL! And do you know, after a day of that...the dang card was still curled! I know my friend would not mind...but I do. So...I put the focal image on it, took a picture to share with all of you, then I removed the focal image and threw the card in the garbage.

Supplies-card stock and papers:Good Times level 2 paper pack(CTMH). stamp:Cupcake Collection(PTI). ink:Buttercup, Chocolate,Sweet Leaf(CTMH). other: Classic Circle Nestabilities(Spellbinders). Shimmerz Spritz. Scor-Pal.
ETA: Hey, Diana...I know we discussed this stamp set, but I really liked the sentiments and a few of the cupcakes. It's not as bad as I thought. You may want to get it. *wink, wink*

I've been doing water aerobics in the morning with one of my friends. I'm feeling pretty good, too! It's been hot, but not unbearble like last year. We are spending a lot of time at the beach, which I love. We went last weekend and will be going this weekend as well. I hope everyone is having an awesome summer. I can't believe it's July 15th already! Where does the time go?! Anybody reading anything good? My book club just finished Angels and Demons. I opted not to read that one. I'm re-reading the Twilight books. Sad, I know. Well now, I'm off to battle the ants! They are EVERYWHERE!!

Thank you for the visit...I truly appreciate it! See you again soon.

Blessings~

Yummy! I love it! Your friend is going to love this card. Sorry to read about your spritzer mishap. I hate when things like that happen. Great idea to let the background paper be the sentiments. The paper pieced cupcake paper is awesome!

Sounds like you are having a great summer!

Barb, your card looks great to me! Love the paper and the cuppie! I'm so sorry to hear of the problem spritz. Maybe you want to let the company know and see if there any tips to avoid that?

Good for you on doing water aerobics! A great way to get some exercise and not "feel" it so much.

Summer is flying by and it's good to hear you are truly enjoying yours. Hugs!

Bard your card is beautiful! The DP is awesome and the cute cupcake really makes the DP pop! Sorry to hear about the Shimmerz Spritz boo boo. Things like this always happen right before you finish a card...don't ask how I know! *lol*
After my many spritzer boo boos, I simply placed mine in a drawer because I didn't know what to do with it! I was clueless until I found this tutorial a few weeks ago and I tell ya', the sparkle is beyond beautiful!
Enjoy your water aerobics and have a great day:)
hugs
