Hello Pumpkin

I wanted to make a card to put in a care package I'm sending Victoria. So, I'm going thru my stamps and I spot this set from Verve. It was the perfect choice since I wanted to make a card with an Autumn theme and we've called Vic 'pumpkin' since she was a baby. I used some wonderful double-sided card stock paper I picked up a while ago at Jo-Ann. I love the fall colors on it and it matched so nicely with the Papertrey Ink cardstock that I have in my stash. Victoria is a real fashionista, so I added the orange Prima flower to show this little bears fashion sense. I went over parts of the pumpkin with a glitter pen too, because, just like her mother, Victoria is all about the sparkle. I did a bit of paper piercing, as well and added just a hint of ribbon. I think it's cute and it will bring a touch of fall to her dorm wall.

Supplies-card stock:Vintage Cream, Scarlet Jewel,Rustic Cream,Summer Sunrise,Dark Chocolate(PTI). double sided card stock paper: Harvest Row/Harvest Flower(Heidi Grace Designs). stamp set:Hello Pumpkin(Verve). ink:Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate(Tsukineko). ribbon:Summer Sunrise grosgrain(PTI). other:Prima flower. Cream brad from my stash. Scor-Pal.

Victoria is having a wonderful time at school. She is loving the dorm life, except those nights when the girls have scooter races down the hallway at 11:00pm! She has an adorable room mate and they get along so well.(That in itself is a blessing) They spend their free time searching for bargains to decorate their dorm. Her classes are challenging, but she's doing great. She was coming home every two weeks for a while, but we decided that she needed to stay around campus, not only for study groups and to get her homework done, but also for social activitites. There is always so much going on around the campus. She'll be home for Thanksgiving and of course I can hardly wait. I do miss her terribly, but I am so happy she has been blessed with this opportunity.

I am still trying to figure out how we went from this...

Victoria at 3 days old. She could hold her head up the day she was born. AND she was huge! She weighed 10lbs. 11oz. and she was 22 inches long. I delivered her the good old-fashioned way and with no meds.

To this in just 18 short years...

Victoria on her 18th birthday. Still our 'Pumpkin'.

Thanks for the visit! Have a wonderful day...

Blessings~
Pumpkin

Cute, cute card, Barb - Perfect for your pumpkin!

It appears to me that a beautiful baby grew up to be a lovely young woman, and yes, for you like it was for me, seemingly in the blink of an eye. Both of my boys were away for a while, and I missed them. It's hard. You're happy to see them fly on their own, and it tugs on your heartstrings at the same time.

Take care, friend!

Such a cutie! I love baby pics! I can't believe she could hold her head up so soon. AND You are wonder woman...no drugs, all natural...Holy Moly!

Victoria has grown into a beautiful woman like her mother.

What a lovely card for a lovely young woman. Those pictures are adorable. I'm sure Victoria just loves what you created.

And while I know it is very hard to watch your baby fly from the nest, just think of all the lovely creations you can make to show her how much she is loved and missed!

Hugs to you!!

Awww...that is so sweet, Barb. I know how hard it is to be without your kids, but somehow we learn to make it through as they learn to become independent. The good thing is that the heartstrings never have to be severed. ;) I'm sure Victoria will be blessed by your care package --the card is perfect for your 'pumpkin' and I'll bet she keeps it on display long past the fall season.

Darling baby pic of her (Chloe was very much like that --10 lbs and 24 inches, and very strong...and delivered naturally with no meds AT HOME...not sure what we were thinkin' -lol). She's sure grown up and is a beautiful young lady. Takes after her mama. ;)
