Halloween Candy Corn

Hello everyone! Did you all have nice weekends? I cannot believe how quickly October is slipping away. I really love this month and all the changes it brings to nature. Ahhhh....Autumn. *sigh* Well, today is my day to post on the Scraps of Color blog, so I thought I would try something new. I am going to share my project here as well. Lets get to it! Click HERE to view my SOC post.

The inspiration for my card today comes from this photo on my Pinterest board.

It also features a design I saw in the September issue of Card Maker magazine. The card opens on the side, after lifting the flap. It is so cute in real life!

 Card Supplies:
stamp sets: Friendship Jar, Friendship Jar Fillers(Papertrey Ink)
patterned papers: Matilda(Cosmo Cricket)
card stock: Ivory Layering(GinaK. Designs), Dusty Durango(Stampin' Up!)
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede(Stampin' Up!), Antique Linen, Vintage Photo Distress Inks(Ranger)
accessories: Copic markers, Clear Star Glitter pen, Rustic Twine(PTI), Oval, Oval Scallop Nestabilities, Friendship dies(PTI)

I got another chance to use my Friendship Jar sets...lovin' those! You will definitely be seeing a few more posts showcasing these sets in the upcoming weeks. I love the vintage feel of the Mason jar and the folks over at Papertrey Ink created lots of fun goodies to put inside the jar. I think the twine finishes the card off nicely, although, raffia would have looked nice too.

Don't forget to download your FREE copy of Scraps of Color magazine. You will find lots of seasonal inspiration there, everything from sketches to create awesome layouts, to card samples to step by step tutorials. The issues are jam packed with color photos, informative articles and freebies. The Creative Team always has wonderful projects showcased, as well. The October issue is almost ready for publication and it is LOADED with creative goodness!

I'm so glad you stopped by today! Thanks for the visit. Until next time...

Blessings~

Terrific card, Barb. I appreciate the ideas you have for inspiring oneself when feeling uninspired. Your card looks good enough to eat (nom, nom, nom)although I am not sure I get the different way of opening the card (could be too early on a Monday, though).

Have a super week!

Oh, this is so YUMMY! I have a bag of candy corn in the house for Tanner's class and NOW I want to open the bag. LOL! The jar is so cute and your coloring is awesome!

The way the card opens is cool. I love the scallop on the flap. Awesome!
