Special Order Christmas Cards

Hello Friends! Today I am sharing a collection of Christmas cards that were a special request from a customer. You all are aware that I sell my cards, aren't you? Well, I do! Just drop me an e-mail when you see something you like. Anyway...I was asked to create 5 cards, each with a different theme. The recipients of all the cards were men and the cards could have no 'religious' symbols on them. My themes were: Army, Jazz, Lakers, Raiders and USC. Hmmmmm....

I couldn't give grown men cards with snowmen and Santa on them. A Christmas tree would be great, but I didn't have time to color up the cute Christmas Tree from Meljen's Designs. And I didn't have a tree in my stamp collection that would work for me. What to do? What to do?  I thought and thought and browsed thru my goodies. Here is what I came up with...

I decided to use the same layout for each card. That way I could make them assembly line style. I needed the design to be clean and simple...we are talking about cards for men...so frilly and fussy, glitter and bling were a no no. So I went with a simple wreath stamp and well, take a look...

For the sports team cards, I used the team colors. I visited each team's website for color authenticity. I did a lot of layering and simple stamping. I used a regular single hole punch to create 'ornaments' or pops of color for the wreath. The stamp set included a bow image, so I made use of that as well.  This is the card I made for the USC fan.

The insides of each of the sports team cards is finished the same way.  I used a simple greeting from Papertrey Ink and more hole punched circles. This is the inside of the Raiders fan card.

For the Jazz themed card, I used sheet music background paper and finished off the inside with a few musical note stickers.

And for the Army card, my first thought was camouflage, but I didn't have any camouflage paper. I went to the Army website and discovered that they actually have colors! Soooo...easy peasy! I had a star stamp in my collection that looked like the Army star, so that is what I used to finish off the inside.

I don't usually take special requests, but I am really glad I took this one. I had a blast pulling these together.

That's it for me today. Thanks for dropping by. Come back tomorrow. It's Friday, new release day at Meljen's Designs and believe me, you don't want to miss what Melissa has for you this week!

 Blessings~
