His & Hers ~ Father's and Mother's Day Cards

Hello Friends! Happy Thursday! Today in class we talked about Mother's and Father's Day cards.  So many wonderful techniques were shared, I literally got a headache. I have created two cards for you today.

I used the Pond Life stamp set for 'his' card. If you enlarge the photo, you will see that I added a single tiny twinkle to the "water"...what can I say? I couldn't resist! It adds just a hint of sparkle. I thought the card needed a little 'something'.  For 'her' card, I was so excited to use the new In Colors from Stampin' Up! My shipment arrived this afternoon and I didn't waste any time tearing into it to create my card. Aren't those colors just luscious? Like sherbet! I stamped the flowers with Versamark ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I took a sponge dauber and swirled on a little ink and then using a paper towel, I wiped off the excess. I adhered the flowers with dimensionals. And, I added a few pearls and gave the focal panel a blast of my home made shimmer spray.

Here is a detail shot for you. If you look closely, you can see a bit of the shimmer. It is sooo pretty in real life.

That's all I have for today. Thank you so much for visiting!

Blessings~

Both cards are wonderful. Your masculine card really stands out to me. It is very nice looking. I agree with you that the color in your Mother's Day card looks yummy!

Wow, Barb, both cards are amazing. The masculine card has a wonderfully unique feel. And the feminine card is so pretty with that delectable color and neat embossing. Again, wow!
