Friday Freebie from MelJen's Designs

Hello Friends! Today, Melissa is tickling your funny bone for April Fool's Day by offering Bear Butt as the freebie! Isn't he cute? He's only going to be free for a limited time, so go grab him now. And if you create something with him, post it on our Facebook Fan page. We love seeing your creations.

I have a card to share featuring this little guy, too. I printed him onto watercolor paper. I heat set it and then water colored him with Distress Markers. LOVE THOSE MARKERS! They are so much fun! I just scribbled on a little color and spread it around with a water brush. After it dried, I came back and added a few more strokes of color for shading. It's really that easy. I used sketch #162 from My Favorite Things for my card layout...just layering papers and creating banners. I adhered everything down, popped the focal up with dimensional adhesive and that's all there was to it!

I am entering this card into the Share Your Project contest at ScrapbookPal.com This time around we were to use products from Tim Holtz. I purchased the Distress Markers from ScrapbookPal.com. They were a Christmas present to myself! They sell them individually or in sets. I treated myself to the whole set, that way I would have any color I needed. Be sure to check out their contests...there is a $35 gift certificate up for grabs. I won last month...this month it could be YOU!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings~

Barb, your bear is colored so well. I love the honeycomb and wood DP - they are so befitting the bear image. (But I had to laugh at your comment about how easy it is to use distress markers. I wish I could take lessons from you because I have yet to use them well, let alone easily. I can't get a decent result. And I know it's user error as my husband tells me when I have a computer mess up.)

So cute, Barb. Great job on the coloring and the overall card look. That honeycomb paper is perfect! Hope you have a terrific weekend.
