Mother's Day Cards

Hello Friends! With Easter behind us, I thought I'd better get started with my Mother's Day cards. I'm starting out with this one I created using a stamp set from WPlus9. I purchased this set to do a water coloring technique, but found that it would work perfectly on my Mother's Day Cards.

I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire featured on her blog recently, called Generation Stamping. Now, this is not a new technique and it's not a difficult technique. It's quick, it's easy and it produces fantastic results. It also uses minimal supplies and it's a great way to showcase a pretty stamp using your favorite inks.

With Generation Stamping, you ink up the stamp and then stamp it several times on your project WITHOUT re-inking. This gives you shades of the same color and cleans your stamp at the same time! LoL! I actually created a few of these cards, in different colors, because it was so quick and easy. I added a sentiment stamped in that delicious Delicata Gold ink, a few yummy PPP sequins and then gave each card a blast of my homemade shimmer spray for extra sparkle. And that was all there was to it!

You can see here that some colors are better suited for this technique than others, but, I'm satisfied with the way these turned out. Jennifer recommends pigment inks for this technique. I don't own any pigment inks, so I used what I had. The bottom left one is my favorite. I just LOVE that Crisp Cantaloupe color from Stampin' Up!

That's it from me today!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a Happy Day!

Blessings~
