Hello Friends! The Watercolor for Cardmakers class started today! I mentioned in a previous post that I did not own any watercolors...well, I have some now. I recently had an anniversary. Take a look at one of the gifts the Hubs bought for me...a set of watercolors and brushes and that super cute mug! I was so pleased!
Now onto today's lesson...we learned about creating backgrounds with water colors. So fun! So easy! Take a look at the CAS cards I made...
Lots of fun techniques were shared today. I look forward to what the teachers have for us tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by!
Blessings~

I created this background by saturating the paper and adding different colors of blue and letting them mix and mingle. I LOVE this technique.
On this one I tried a technique shared by Jennifer Rzasa, which was to use a stencil over wet watercolors. That is how I created the bottom half of the card. It was messy, but a lot of fun! I haven't laughed so much in my studio in a loooong time! Watercoloring is very freeing. No staying in the lines with watercolors. They just go and do whatever the heck they please!

I love your water color backgrounds, Barb. Both cards are so pretty! The backgrounds are so subtle and yet they are dynamic. Great work :)
Oh. My. Gosh. Barb, these cards are fantastic! You got this after one class? After not owning any watercolors?? Wow! I'm very, very impressed. Congratulations on your recent anniversary AND on receiving such thoughtful gifts. I can see you are putting them to excellent use. Can't wait to see what else you learn. This is gonna be fun! :D
This is beautiful! I love that image, too! Isn't that from Gina K Designs?
