Thinking of You~Geraniums

Hello Friends! I have another watercolor card to share, featuring a technique I learned in the Watercolor for Cardmakers Class. I've used this image in a previous post HERE, and the piece I'm using today was actually my first attempt at this technique and I tossed it in the garbage. Later, after thinking about it for a while I decided to fish it out and use it on a card. I'm really glad I did...

I colored directly onto the stamp with markers, then I spritzed the stamp with water and stamped it onto watercolor paper. Then, using a small, damp paint brush, I pulled the color into the image from the sides. For the geranium, I just dabbed my brush over the marker to bleed it out a little. Simple, simple, simple. And I love, love, love the end result. I used a bit of blue ink around the image to make all the colors pop. I die cut the focal, mounted it onto the scalloped piece and then mounted that onto my card base with foam tape. I embossed the sentiment, tied on some linen thread, added a few sequins and called it done. Super fun technique!

That's all I have to share today. Thank you so much for visiting me!

Blessings~

Barb, I'm so glad you decided to resurect this piece. It's lovely. The colors are beautifully blended to show shading and depth. I love the blue around the image. And the embossed sentiment is perfect.

Oh my gosh, Barb! You threw this piece away?! I am so glad you went back and pulled it out...it's amazing! The whole card is just beautiful. I can't think of the words to express what I want to say, just looking at that image makes me very happy. Wow!
