Watercolor Class ~ Lesson Two

Hello Friends! I'm sharing the card I created for the Watercolor for Cardmakers online class. I am learning so much! I think I've found a new love! I never thought I'd "park" my Copic markers, but I'm seriously considering it now! I love the freedom of watercoloring. It's very relaxing. Lesson 2 was all about watercolor stamping.

Okay...for this card, I used a technique shared by Kristina Werner. I saw this technique on YouTube, but never gave it a try until I signed up for this class. It produces a really cool result and I am sure I will be visiting this technique quite often.

Here is my card...

The idea here is to take a stamp and using ink, water and a brush, make the stamped image look as if it were watercolored. I love how this turned out. It's very easy to do and it will work with just about any stamp. I used Distress Markers for this image, but any water-based markers would work. I know I say this all the time, but...consider signing up for the class. It's never too late, because we get lifetime access to the videos and card gallery. There lots of videos, with clear instructions. And each teacher provides a PDF handout for their lesson, too. You don't need ANY fancy materials. If you've got dye ink pads or some water-based markers or colored pencils and some watercolor paper, that's really all you need. Think about it!

**I am entering this card into the Spring Flowers challenge at Simon Says Stamp**

That's all I have to share today. I will be back tomorrow with the Friday Freebie from MelJen's Designs. Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the visit.

Blessings~

Your stamping does look like a beautiful watercolor image, Barb. Even the sentiment you chose looks as if it were hand painted. The faint blue shadow around the image highlights it quite well. The pearls are perfectly placed. I love the CAS design and composition.

Oh wow, wow, wow! Barb! Totally thought of that artist, I think her name is Susan Branch when I saw this card. So, so pretty! And wow again when you say you can think of parking your Copics in favor of watercoloring. That's saying something because I know you love your Copics. Well this type of artwork sure seems to agree with you. Your work is fantastic!
