Creative Blogger Award

Hello Friends and Happy New Year! Last month, a really sweet and crafty blogger, nominated me for the Creative Blogger Award. I was thrilled and honored. But life got in the way and I was not able to fulfill my part of the agreement and that is what I want to do today.

I was nominated by Shalana Glass of the scrappinwithshalana blog. She tells the story of how we came to be friends really well on her blog. You can read that HERE. Shalana is very talented and shares wonderful step by step tutorials on her blog. I encourage you to visit and see what she's up to.

The Creative Blogger Award entitles you to join a group of talented people and share a bit about yourself and your creative process. Let's get to the questions...

What am I currently working on?
Nothing! I like to take December and January off from creating. In December, I'm spending time with my family and enjoying the Christmas season. In January, I like to clean and organize my studio and PURGE! I did sneak in a little bitty bit of watercoloring a few weeks ago, though...I'll share that in a later post.

What is my signature style?
I think my style is clean and simple...with a twist! I like layers and I love patterned paper! And no card leaves my studio without some sort of sparkle or bling.

How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
I find a lot of inspiration online...Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube videos and other bloggers. Staying inspired is not an issue for me. The issue is finding time to try all of the things that have inspired me.

How does my creative process work?
I create from my heart. If I feel like making a Halloween card in January, I'll do it. I won't share it until October, but I try to stay open to what I feel like creating. Sometimes, I'll get the urge to play with a certain stamp set or to use a particular color or patterned paper pad. When these urges come, I just go with them. I find that I produce some of my best work that way. My motto is: "Just because I created it, doesn't mean I have to share it." I find that this gives me the freedom to relax and enjoy the creative process.

So that's it, then. You've got a little glimpse into what goes on in my head when I'm card making.

Now, I have the honor of passing the Creative Blogger Award on to two more crafters.  My choices are:

Jean Tomshack at Creative Bliss-Jean and I have been blog buddies for a good while now. She is amazing. Not only does she make cute cards, but she knits and crochets, does cross stitch and digital scrapbooking. You've got to check out her blog, I know you will be inspired.

Sheila Harper at LaLa Crafts- Sheila is another longtime blog buddy. She has a clean and simple style that I really enjoy. She creates sweet and whimsical cards and shares tidbits about her grandson. Visit her blog, too, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you for visiting me today!

Blessings~
