Hello Friends! I am back today with part two of my watercolored carousel horse. Please see my previous post for part one.
So, after I finished watercoloring my little guy, I added a light blue wash around him. Then I die cut him with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square die and adhered him to my card base with dimensional adhesive. I thought about adding a sentiment to the front of the card and frankly, the sentiments included with this stamp didn't quite fit the mood I was going for, so I opted to leave it off for now. I added pearls and gold stars to finish off the card.
I kept things clean and simple to let the carousel horse be the star of the show. It's a very shiny card, so I didn't feel like I need to add any glitter or sparkle. My photographs were taken at night, under artificial light, so they may seem a bit harsh. But, in real life, the colors are quite soft and delicate. In this photograph, you can see the detail of the WOW embossing powder. Amazing detail! Because the powder is so fine and it melts like a dream.
I had tons of fun watercoloring this image. Coloring directing onto the image and adding water, is definitely a technique I plan to try again.
And that is it from me today. Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the visit!
Oh! And for those of you who have inquired about my mom...she is home from the hospital and doing dandy! And thank you for your concern!
Blessings~

Oooh, it looks fabulous all finished and dressed up on a card, Barb. Wonderful work. I'm so happy to hear that your mom is doing better. What a relief for you! Have a lovely weekend!
Oh WOW! This is so beautifully done. I like how pretty the gold embossing powder makes this card look. Great image! And wonderful coloring!
This rocks!
I'm coming in backwards to here. I love this beautiful carousel horse, too, Brenda! I agree that it shines without a sediment and that way it can be an all-purpose card. It's really soft and gorgeous!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #4!! Hugs, Darnell
